At the age of 10, Mik Lane began his Martial Arts training with Shotokan Karate, and then continued training in a wide variety of other Martial Arts systems, including Lau Gar Kung Fu, Kick Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Thai Boxing, Ju Jitsu, Atemi Jutsu and Boxing.
Sifu Mik Lane learnt Wing Chun in Germany as a member of the EWTO, and then pioneered the teaching in the UK of the Leung Ting 'Wing Tsun' system, but left the organisation in 2002 to form the Wing Tyun Kung-Fu Organisation (WTKO).
Sifu Mik now continues his training and development of the Kung-Fu system, and now teaches Wing Tyun privately in Featherstone.
The Stafford Club is run by WTKO Instructor Sifu Mike Gorton, who was one of the first students of Sifu Mik Lane.
